WELCOME TO THE WEB HOME OF

"The Great Yarmouth Wildfowling and Conservation Association. (GYWCA)"

The website will include information on our aims, conservation and educational work, details on the "open to all" Clay Section subject to having a shotgun licence non members are eligable for max 3 guest visits , but will also go on to include our history and our relationship with Breydon estuary and the surrounding marshes.

The site has three main aims:

  • To give a central source of information to GYWCA members, who are on line?
  • To introduce the Association and provide a means by which people can make contact.
  • To provide the means by which aspiring wildfowlers/ duck shooters can join, be introduced, mentored and learn about the long local tradition of "fowling"

The early mornings, the dark, cold, the "cling to everything" mud, wind and rain, sunrises, sunsets, excitement, the sound of wings overhead, full moons, the thrill of goose noise, wild life seen, numb fingers and the feeling of being alive all come at no extra cost. It's what makes it special!
